Would you let Neil deGrasse Tyson steal your french fries?

Luckily, Seth MacFarlane did, and we all got to enjoy COSMOS for dessert as a result.

That’s just one of the stories you’ll get to hear on Sunday night’s podcast when Neil has “A Conversation with Seth MacFarlane.”

You’ll also hear how Seth almost died on 9/11, how Neil became the “science consultant” on Family Guy’s “The Big Bang Theory” episode, and why music is so important to all of Seth’s projects.

And while the two talk a lot about the making of COSMOS on FOX, they also talk about Seth’s other projects: Ted, Family Guy, and A Million Ways to Die in the West.

It turns out that Seth is a bit of a sci fi geek, too, and he and Neil discuss the very strong thread of science fiction and science fact that permeate Family Guy. (In true geek fashion, they also talk about how Star Trek is better science fiction than Star Wars and make fun of that classic line, “the ship that made the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs.” I know that will require some of you to respond… you can leave your vitriol in the comments below or on the show page after it posts Sunday night.)

Seth also talks about how Carl Sagan was a big influence on his life, and then does a spot-on Carl Sagan impersonation.

As I’m sure all of you are aware, the final episode of COSMOS airs this Sunday at 9:00 PM. Make it a COSMOS double-header and listen to Neil and Seth first, at 7:00 PM ET on our website or on iTunes, SoundCloud, Stitcher or TuneIn.

That’s it for now. Keep Looking Up!
