Friday, Hear Part 1 from our StarTalk at BAM – Science is Everywhere Science Extravaganza

This week on StarTalk Radio, we’re bringing you all the science you could ever want. Actually, you can never get enough science but we’re giving you a lot!

Back in March, we recorded StarTalk at BAM: Science is Everywhere – a celebration of the StarTalk Podcast Network featuring recordings of all our shows: StarTalk Radio, StarTalk All-Stars, and Playing with Science. We had a great time and now it’s finally time to let the world in on our science party.

On Part 1, Neil deGrasse Tyson and comic co-host Chuck Nice sit down with theoretical physicist and author Brian Greene to try and unlock the secrets of the early universe. We discuss the recent findings of some of the first stars created and how that impacts our understanding of the “Cosmic Dark Ages.” Brian also updates us on the progress of string theory, or as Neil might say, lack of progress. We also ponder what time might look and act like on a universal scale.

As a special performance, our crew is joined onstage by Baba Brinkman – rapper, playwright, and science educator, to freestyle a rap about the show that just happened. It’s something that you don’t want to miss.

After our musical interlude, we move on to our presentation of StarTalk All-Stars. Neil hands the hosting duties off to neuroscientist and All-Stars host Heather Berlin as we explore the intersection of neuroscience and physics. We dive deep into free will and our understanding of it and we explore if physics has anything to say about it.

It’s at that point that we must end Part 1; however, stay tuned next week for Part 2 where we finish out our StarTalk All-Stars show and end our time at BAM with a presentation of Playing with Science featuring Olympic figure skater Sasha Cohen!

Please join us tomorrow night for StarTalk at BAM – Science is Everywhere (Part 1) at 7pm ET right here on our website, as well as on Stitcher, Apple Podcasts, Google Play Music, SoundCloud, and TuneIn. If you’re an All-Access subscriber, you can watch or listen to this episode ad-free at 7pm, too.

That’s it for now. Keep Looking Up!
–Ian Mullen
