StarTalk Live! Takes On Awesome Con for the First Time!

Then come join StarTalk Live! featuring Eugene Mirman and Bill Nye as we take over Washington D.C and make our first appearance at Awesome Con this June.

Awesome Con, one of the largest fan conventions on the East Coast, is a three-day event that will run from Friday, June 3rd until Sunday June 5^th at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

You don’t want to miss out on the capstone event of the weekend – us! Not only will this Science Fair provide a platform for some of the leading scientific institutions in our country like NASA and the Smithsonian, but also the science fair now features StarTalk Live! Join us at noon on Sunday, June 5th, when Eugene Mirman, one of the “50 funniest” comics in New York (according to Time Out New York), and science educator and engineer, Bill Nye the Science Guy, will bring our brand of humor, science and insight onto the Awesome Con stage.

What are they going to talk about? We don’t know yet. But, given that this is our first time in Washington, DC, the capital of our county, it could be funding science initiatives. It could be the importance of STEM education. Maybe we’ll even have special guests from the government. Regardless of who our guests are, though, one thing is for sure: this show will be just as filled with science and comedy as every StarTalk Live! show is.

Keep in mind that your ticket to StarTalk Live! is included with a Sunday pass to the convention. We plan on checking out the convention before and after the show Sunday. From what we’ve heard, Awesome Con is all about hanging out with comic fans and celebrating the pop culture we love here at StarTalk, from movies and comic books to cosplay. We might not have time to check out any of the discussion panels, but if you do, be sure to let us know here in the comments to this blog post what you did and what you thought of it.
