Friday, The Astrophysicist Is In…

Ever wonder what it would be like to pop into the office of your favorite astrophysicist? This week on StarTalk Radio, Neil deGrasse Tyson’s office hours are officially open. Joined by comic co-host Chuck Nice, Neil answers fan-submitted Cosmic Queries on an array of topics from the cosmos.

One piece of conversation I enjoyed was when Chuck found out that Neil used to teach. It may not be a well-known fact that Neil taught – this was the first time I found out – but it probably would have been pretty cool to learn astronomy from your own personal astrophysicist.

One of the reasons I didn’t gain interest in science until the latter end of my schooling was due to the lack of enthusiasm and passion for the material being taught. I feel like that wouldn’t be an issue with Neil at the helm!

Besides that, you’ll also hear conversation on some of your favorite cosmic topics. Neil and Chuck discuss space dust: what it is, where it comes from, and how long it’s been around. You’ll learn about finding life elsewhere in the universe, and Neil and Chuck ponder what the world would be like if we didn’t find life. You’ll also explore what technology from the future might seem like magic to present day humans, and what technology from the past fell under that “magic” category.
